Meet Anton, an expert in English pronunciation with over 14 years of experience.
My interest in English pronunciation began over 15 years ago while working at an English pronunciation school in Tokyo. Since then, I have expanded my teaching expertise to cater to individuals from diverse linguistic backgrounds such as Chinese, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Farsi, Arabic, French, Korean, African languages, and many more.
It has been an enriching experience to connect with learners from various linguistic backgrounds, allowing me to adapt my teaching methods and materials to meet their unique needs.
I have always been interested in languages and the thought process involved in language acquisition. It's not just about studying, but also developing the correct mindset. You really have to consider the whole thought process. How do native speakers of a certain language think? How do they process information? How do they develop the ability to read, write and speak?
My second language is French, and my third language is Japanese. Analyzing the patterns of behaviour of native speakers has helped me acquire the skills necessary to work as a Japanese-English translator in a range of specialist fields.
Currently, I offer several course which include:
Received Pronunciation: Complete Course and Student Correction Course.
If you are new to pronunciation, I recommend starting with the basic course, Received Pronunciation: Complete Course. In this course, you will learn the basics of Received Pronunciation. Each sound is introduced step-by-step together with exercises to help reinforce your newly found knowledge. You will learn to identify the different vowel sounds according to the shape of the mouth, the position of the tongue, and their respective positions on the vowel sound chart. You will also learn to aspirate the consonant sounds in a native-like manner. The complete course requires a minimum of 30 hours to complete.
If you are already familiar with the basics, I recommend Student Correction Course Series I. In this course, we examine the difficulties that non-native English speakers can have according to their linguistic background.
I also offer Received Pronunciation for Americans, a course I created specifically for American English speakers who wish to adopt an authentic version of Received Pronunciation. This course is ideal for narrators, actors and anyone from a General American English background.

The Global Standard of Clarity
While the United Kingdom is home to a myriad of accents, Received Pronunciation (RP) has emerged as the standard for clear, neutral communication. It is the phonetic baseline used by British English dictionaries and is the accent of choice for British newsreaders, presenters, and journalists worldwide. It is frequently referred to as Standard British English.
The 'Hollywood Default' for Actors
RP holds a critical place in the entertainment industry. In Hollywood, it is perceived as the most internationally accessible British accent. This is why many leading British actors, trained in the classical theatre tradition, utilise RP as their primary professional tool for international productions.
Modern RP vs Traditional RP
There are various forms of Received Pronunciation, ranging from the highly formal 'Traditional' styles to contemporary variants. This programme focuses exclusively on Modern RP. By aligning with contemporary linguistic trends, you will acquire an accent that sounds natural, up-to-date, and relevant for today’s professional and creative environments.
